AMS Performance High Mount Intercooler for 2017+ F150 3.5L/2.7L & Raptor

The AMS Performance High Mount Intercooler gives 2017+ Ford F-150 2.7L/3.5L and Ecoboost Raptor owners a substantial increase in charge-air cooling capacity while freeing up valuable space in the lower front bumper. By relocating the intercooler behind the upper grille, the system makes room for winches and frame-cut off-road bumpers while replacing the compact factory unit with a massive 24 × 14 × 3.5-inch bar-and-plate core. At 1,176 cubic inches versus the factory intercooler's 552 cubic inches, the AMS core delivers 113% more internal volume and uses custom AMS-spec fin and tube geometry.
 
Designed using a complete CAD model of the truck's front end, the intercooler features cast aluminum end tanks engineered to efficiently direct airflow through the core rather than simply enclosing it. Large 3-inch cast inlet and outlet ports provide ample airflow capacity and create a strong foundation for future custom charge-pipe configurations, while the intercooler as currently supplied connects directly to the factory intercooler piping.
 
AMS engineered the mounting system specifically for the additional stresses encountered by off-road trucks. A gusseted 1-inch 304 stainless steel lower support tube carries the weight of the intercooler, while rubber-isolated mounting pins help absorb impacts before they reach the cast end tanks. A 304 stainless upper bracket controls core movement, and a serviceable drain at the low point of the cold-side outlet allows accumulated oil mist or condensation to be removed during routine maintenance.
 
The cast outlet tube incorporates a blow-off valve mounting location compatible with either the factory valve or a Turbosmart VeePort. Available in an uncoated silver finish or black powder coat with your choice of AMS branding, the intercooler combines increased cooling capacity with the durability and packaging needed for modified street trucks, Raptors, and off-road builds.
 
AMS validates the High Mount Intercooler through on-vehicle testing using a MoTeC data logger and 19-sensor array to monitor charge-air temperature, pressure drop, and other critical engine and turbocharger parameters against the factory intercooler and competing high-mount systems. Fitment includes 2017+ 2.7L and 3.5L EcoBoost F-150 models and 2017+ 3.5L EcoBoost F-150 Raptors. Installation requires removal of the upper grille shutters and trimming of surrounding ductwork. This intercooler is designed for use with the factory intercooler piping and is not currently compatible with AMS or other aftermarket intercooler pipe kits.
